We bought a cute little desk calendar (one of those that you tear off each day to reveal a new saying on the next day) that's called "If God Used Sticky Notes" - we found it & I couldn't help buying it! I think we'll post the sayings for each day for all to enjoy! :)

Aruba for Christmas!

We had an AMAZING time in Aruba for Christmas. There was some chaos getting there & getting back into the states (that's what happens when you fly international into the states the day after a guy tries to blow one up!) Enjoy some pictures from our fabulous getaway! :)

Snow Storm in Lynchburg!

Well, we had quite a day today! We were trying our best to get out of Lynchburg in order to make it to Charlotte, NC today and it looked quite grim for a little while! We have to catch a flight on Sunday morning to Aruba for Christmas and we didn't think we were going to make it in to Charlotte, but we did! God is SO good! We prayed and prayed that He'd get us here and He did! Our little front-wheel drive car did make it through the 1+ feet of snow in our neighborhood, along with the help of a nice guy with a jeep and a strap to pull us! We had to travel slow until we got well into NC, but we made it! Here are some pictures to show you how deep this mess was!

Kurtz Family Update

Sorry that it's been so long since our last post! Lots to update you on!

First I'll share some pictures because what's a blog with no pictures to share! :) We went to VA Beach the weekend after Labor Day. It was a long weekend for us & we had a great & relaxing time! :)

Okay, back to reality! Here are some random updates:

• My blog is no more - we're just going to be using this blog & we're trying to keep it more general rather than a venting platform so if you had bookmarked mine, delete it & follow this one instead! :)
• Travis started a new job on Monday! He's now a budget analyst for Liberty! He loves it! He's so happy & so glad to be doing something in his degree field!
• Travis also started back to school in August. He's now pursuing his MBA & will graduate in 2012. (I'm a proud wife, if you can't tell!) :) He's already completed his first course towards the degree & just started his second course on Monday. He seems to really like it! He's doing well!
• I started my new job at the end of September. I'm now doing the medical billing for a chiropractor in town. I like the job & I especially like the hours! I get to work longer days Monday through Thursday so that I can have Friday's off & have a long weekend (hence a blog from me at 2 in the afternoon on a Friday)! It's great!
• I am still selling Mary Kay so make sure you check out my site at: marykay.com/ginakurtz and I have a blog at: marykaybyginak.blogspot.com so make sure you follow that blog on here to stay updated on the latest products and specials!
• I have also become a Pampered Chef consultant! I prefer having you host a catalog show in order to get free products and nice discounts from the company as my schedule won't allow for me to come to your house and do a cooking show. I also have a blog (imagine that!) for that! It's pamperedchefbyginak.blogspot.com so follow it to in order to have the latest months promotions and deals!

Well, we've both been sick this past week so it's been a little rough around the Kurtz house! I'm about to go lay back down as yesterday & today seem to have been my worst days yet! Thank the Lord that I was off today! Travis was sick before me & had his worst days over this past weekend so I'm a bit behind him since he passed it on to me! :)

We are going to the LU football game tomorrow as Travis' office was given tickets to sit in one of the suites! We'll be sure to take our camera & post pictures! Thanks goodness we'll be able to sit inside or I don't think I'd be able to go! It'll be our first game of the season so we're looking forward to it!

We're going camping this weekend!

We head out to Smith Mountain Lake, VA to go camping this weekend! Real camping - a tent & all. The site doesn't have electricity or water, but there is a fire pit & picnic table at each site with a bathhouse nearby! We're leaving this evening - we have to go home to finish packing & get Lacy as she's joining us! Stay tuned to our blog for pictures! It's sure to be a fun weekend filled with S'mores, hot dogs, swimming in the lake, & fun in the sun! :) Here's a picture from their website. I'll post our pictures after we get back!

Khloe Grace Miear makes her arrival!

The Miear family (Kristy & Daniel) welcomed little Khloe Grace on Monday (20th) at 8:22 in the morning! She weighed 9 lbs. 2 ounces & measured 21 inches long! She's precious! We were able to go up & visit with the new little family on Monday evening! I just wanted to share some pictures with you from our visit courtesy of Kristy's mom (Grammie)! :)
