We're Home!

We had a GREAT time on our vacation! It was so nice to be able to get away for a few days! We relaxed, went horseback riding, & spent an afternoon in Washington, DC! We've posted pictures so make sure you check them out!

It was so nice to spend time away - just the two of us. It was almost like another honeymoon! We had no cell phone service at the resort & no internet. Sounds like it would be awful, but it was amazing! We stayed in a yurt which is sort of like a large tent, but it's not like camping at all! We had a full kitchen, it was air conditioned (so we had heat) & we had a nicer bathroom than either of the bathrooms in our house! You'll have to check out the pictures for sure, but here are a few:

Amazing!!

Have I ever told you how amazing my husband is? Well, I'm sure if you're a frequent visitor to this page, then you know this already! He's pretty awesome!
We're getting ready to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary on the 27th of this month! I can't believe it's been almost 4 years already!! How many can say that they've married their best friend & the love of their life?! I can! Life is so wonderful when you get to spend it with your best friend by your side. It’s so awesome to be able to share your goals & dreams with another & then watch them become a reality right before your eyes. It's been the most amazing & the happiest 4 years of my life! Don't get me wrong, we've had our struggles & our arguments, but who hasn't?! They only make us a stronger couple & make our relationship grow deeper!

I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for him! I wouldn’t have accomplished SO many things if it weren’t for him! It’s so wonderful to have my own personal “cheerleader” who celebrates with me whether it’s making a good grade on a test or paper or even in a class, he’s always there to congratulate me or even hang it on the fridge! It’s so nice to know that someone is genuinely happy for my successes! Of course, alongside my paper or test or grades you’ll usually find his as well! I try to do the same in return & try to tell him & show him how proud he makes me!

Well, I didn't begin writing to tell you that he's just amazing, although he is! He is cooking up some sort of surprise for me for our anniversary! I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself! He's told me nothing about it other than to make sure I'm off work by 5 on the 27th & to ask off on the 28th! I can't wait to see what he's got in store for me! I know that he's started "Operation 4th Ann" on his computer & I wouldn't dare snoop! I don't want to ruin the surprise! The fact that he's taking the time & planning something means more to me than anything! I guess I'm a pretty sentimental person so this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone! I mean, this is the girl who saved all the roses he'd given me while we were dating, dried them out, & had the flower girl drop them down the aisle at our wedding! I wouldn't say that I'm very materialistic because I don't have to have the best or most expensive anything! I just love it when he gives me something (homemade or bought, but homemade is better) from the heart. It's so nice to feel loved & appreciated & to know that he's thinking of me!

So many times spouses forget to appreciate the little things. Whether it’s a little note that says “I love you, Babe” that he wrote on a scrap piece of paper before he went to work & left it on the kitchen table for me to find when I got home from work or just taking the time to stop, put his arm around me & tell me he loves me. It’s the little things that matter the most! You don’t have to be wealthy to appreciate or show your appreciation! By the way, that little scrap piece of paper is in my wallet in the picture holder & has been for over 3 years now…it’ll stay there forever so that when I open my wallet at a store or am digging through for something, I’m reminded that he loves me & is there for me. I don’t know what has motivated me to write this & share all of this with you, but I wanted to. So, do something small & special for your spouse sometime! You wouldn’t believe the response you’ll get!! Thanks for listening!
